If you book business travel for your boss or colleagues, you’re not alone – 83% of PAs are in the same boat. Keeping up to date with all the latest developments and news is really important so you’ll want to put a date in your diary for a visit to the Business Travel & Meetings Show at Earls Court 2. There you’ll be able to pick up tips on booking travel, getting the best deals and understanding the latest technology – all of which will make it more interesting, efficient and less of a chore every time you’re asked to book a trip.

At the show on 8-9 February, you’ll find over 180 leading names from Air New Zealand and Disneyland Paris Business to Mondial Assistance and Premier Inn. So whether you’re looking for information on hotels, airlines, or other forms of transport, there’s sure to be a company there that can provide it. It’s also the perfect place to network, both with existing contacts and new ones.

Seminars, masterclasses and discussion sessions are a big attraction of BTMS. This year, they’ll be covering a wide range of stimulating subjects including 'Cost Cutting v Carbon Cutting', 'Supplier Relationships: Finding Room for Negotiation', 'Self-booking tools – are they right for you?', and 'Extracting Value from Your Loyalty Programme'. There’s a good mix of topics on each of the two days so there’ll be a session worth attending whenever you’re there.

Highlights of this year’s show include…

• BTMS Connect
Last year’s planning, appointment and social networking service was really successful and for 2011 the online service will be available once again. If you go along to the show, you’ll be able to use the service to help plan meetings, schedule conference sessions, take part in networking events, and create a bespoke itinerary so you don’t miss anything.

• Masterclass 2011
Fascinating round table sessions about key trends and issues in the travel industry.

• Executive buyer programme
Offering UK buyers a concierge service, a complimentary ticket to the European Travel Buyer Awards, exclusive access to the First Class Lounge, free education programme and show transfers, this programme aims to make it as a easy as possible for senior travel buyers to make the most of their visit to the show.

• European Travel Buyer Awards
Introduced in 2009 to celebrate the achievements of Europe’s travel buyers, the ETBAs take place on the eve of the show on Monday 7 February with guests hoping to win one of nine categories.
